History: No. 2 Squadron "Flying Cheetah" No. 233 Wing, 211 Group, RAF Desert Air Force 9 (North Africa). Flown by Maj. D.B. Hauptfleisch.

This was a Revell kit number 04122. The Kit comes with the decals for the specific aircraft I build. It is one of the few kits that comes with SAAF decals. This was a very basic kit. Construction was simple and one ore two places needed filler.

On the colour scheme I referred to "SA colours and markings Vol1 no. 2" In this issue they have a detailed colour chart and pictures of all the P-40's used by SAAF. The aircraft consist of a camo pattern using Dark Earth FS30118 and Middle stone FS30266. Underside is painted Azure Blue FS35231 and nose is Matt Red. The decals were not very sharp in detail.

The kit was easy to build. But the one thing I found coursing a few problems was the decals. They were very brittle.
