The Spitfire played a great roll in the history of the SAAF. The Specific plane I decided to build was a Spitfire MK9 form 40 Sqd. in 1944/45, PT 672 called "Evelyn"

The kit that I used was a Italeri Spitfire MK9 no. 094. Very small plane in 1:72 scale, but very nice detail. Very little putty had to be used. Canopy not the greatest fit, but OK.

The plane was painted in a non-standard colours for the time period. Dark earth and Dark green Camouflage with Azure underside. The decals were supplied by Whirlwind Decals. Which included the Sqd. badge, Evelyn stencilling, Fuselage numbers and codes.

This was one of my small projects that I enjoyed very much. Everything went well. One small thing to watch out for. If you are going to use the decals by Whirlwind Decals, they are very soft.
